Where we'll meetAhead of your appointment time, you'll receive a unique video-call link by email from Deep Sea Psychology. At the time of your session, simply click on the link to join your session. You may also access your link through your Client Portal account. Video-call links are active up to 8 hours prior to your session time, so you have plenty of time to login early and test out your mic and camera if you'd like. Let us know if you prefer phone-call sessions instead. What we'll doFirst, we'll explore your goals, what's going well in your life, and what you would like to see change or improve. From there, we'll develop a plan of how we're going to accomplish that. You might have heard of some approaches like CBT, DBT, ERP, EFT or other acronyms suggested by your doctor (or even an influencer online) that you'd like to try out. Or, if you'd rather not get too technical with the lingo, that's fine too. We'll walk the path that's right for you. |
When we'll meet Appointments are available weekdays, evenings, and weekends depending. Check out our online booking calendar to find the next available session time, or reach out directly to find a date and time that fits your schedule. Weekly or biweekly sessions are ideal to keep the momentum going, especially when just getting started. For some, monthly check-ins might fit better. Talk to your therapist about your optimal session frequency. Why therapy worksDeveloping awareness through conscious engagement is one key skill behind all therapy strategies. It has the power to help you experience life differently, let go of old habits that don't serve you, and develop new ones that do. Think about it: once you know more about something (including yourself) you can't unknow it. This skill unlocks your power to facilitate real, lasting change. Basically, therapy works because it helps you develop this one crucial skill. |
