About My Clients
Do you ever find yourself feeling or acting in ways that you or others don't understand? Have you ever expressed something real and vulnerable, only to be met with people either not believing you, judging or labelling you, getting defensive, or simply not hearing you? Maybe you know what it's like to stuff down thoughts and feelings, or push away parts of self that you know are there. Maybe you find yourself having outbursts of emotions or behaviours that you feel you can't control, and that seem to have a cycle or life of their own. Maybe you feel disconnected, unsatisfied, stuck, depressed, empty, anxious, lost, frustrated, or just unhappy with life.
Putting on an act might sometimes feel like the only safe option.
I hear you. And I'm here to help and support you. Finding relief, changing difficult patterns, and healing is possible, and if you're ready, we can do this work together.
So what will the work entail? Well, this work carries the potential to help you clarify what might seem confusing and frustrating, grow from places that feel stuck or stagnant, and create a sense of wholeness and connection from places of feeling broken. I want to help you take control in the realm of behaviours and emotions that at times feel overpowering, find fulfillment and meaning in relationships that seem to lack closeness or intimacy, and integrate seemingly conflicting or difficult experiences. I am here to help you discover whatever it is you are looking for, and empower you with knowledge, skills, practice, and awareness to support you in essentially becoming more fully and authentically YOU.
Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
I'm a not-so-traditional-therapist for not-so-traditional-humans.
I spent years developing an understanding of mental health through traditional sciences: neuroscience (brain-based interactions), endocrinology (hormones), and genetic-predispositions. Unsatisfied curiosities led me to discover and deeply explore meditation, yoga, Reiki (body, mind, and energy-based healing practices) and counselling psychology. Ultimately I became an alternative and eclectic, herb burning, shadow-loving therapist.
Maybe it was the frustration of confronting endless cycles of masking symptoms, without daring to delve deeper; or maybe it was the urging of a hopeful spark of wanting a community that feels whole, healthy, and supportive. Whatever the reason, I have committed myself to creating a culture of living authentically and integrally with the unknown.
I primarily root myself in depth psychology, and integrate elements of Indigenous Wisdom Traditions, person-centered, mindful, arts- and somatic- (body-) based approaches, with a touch of cognitive-behavioural influence.
Most importantly, I endeavour to work collaboratively with each client to tailor a treatment and therapy approach that feels "right" for the unique relationship between therapist and client.
