Counselling Isn't About Fixing You

You don't need to be fixed.

You don't need someone to tell you who to be or how to live your life.

What counselling can offer is something many men rarely experience:
  • Space to think clearly.
  • An objective perspective.
  • Evidence-based strategies.
  • A better understanding of yourself.
  • Practical support while navigating difficult seasons of life.

Sometimes having the right support and perspective can change everything.

Our Approach to Men's Mental Health

One of the biggest concerns men have is:

"Am I just going to sit there talking about my feelings?"

Counselling can involve talking. But effective therapy is much more than conversation.

Our clinicians work collaboratively with you to understand what's contributing to your difficulties, identify practical strategies, build insight, and help you create meaningful change.

Depending on your goals, therapy may involve learning new coping skills, processing difficult experiences, improving relationships, reducing anxiety, addressing trauma, or developing healthier ways of responding to stress.

Every treatment plan is tailored to you.

Still have questions? That's completely normal.

Many men spend weeks or months thinking about reaching out before they actually take the first step. A consultation is simply a conversation: an opportunity to learn more and decide what feels right for you.
How do i know if counselling is right for me?
If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or like your usual ways of coping aren't working anymore, counselling may be worth exploring. You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what you need help with. A consultation is an opportunity to talk through what's happening and see whether counselling feels like the right fit.
Do I have to talk about things I'm not ready to discuss?
No. Counselling is a collaborative process, and you are always in control of what you choose to share. Many people come to counselling with experiences, thoughts, or emotions they aren't ready to talk about right away. Your counsellor will meet you where you are, without pressure or judgment, and help create a space where you can explore things at your own pace.
Over time, as you build trust and feel more comfortable, you can decide what feels important to discuss and when.
Will counselling just involve talking about my problems?
Counselling is much more than simply talking about problems. Your clinician will work collaboratively with you to understand what's contributing to your challenges and develop practical strategies based on your goals. Depending on your needs, counselling may focus on coping skills, emotional regulation, relationships, stress management, trauma, or personal growth.
Can counselling help with anger?
Yes. Anger is a common reason men seek counselling. While anger itself is a normal emotion, difficulties managing anger can affect relationships, work, and overall wellbeing.

Counselling can help you understand what contributes to anger, identify patterns, and develop healthier ways to respond.
Is counselling covered by insurance?
Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for counselling or psychological services, depending on your specific plan.

We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage and reimbursement options.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. You can begin by booking a consultation to discuss what brings you to counselling, ask any questions you may have, and determine whether our services are the right fit for you. Feel free to reach out at [email protected]

You Don't Have To Have Everything Figured Out

Whatever brought you here, taking the first step doesn't mean you've failed.

It means you're choosing to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, and invest in your mental health.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or have everything figured out before reaching out.

A consultation is simply a conversation: a chance to talk about what you're experiencing, ask questions, and decide whether counselling feels like the right fit.

Start with a consultation.
