Individual Counselling for Adults with FNHA Coverage

Life experiences, trauma, stress, and emotional challenges can affect how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Individual counselling provides a private space to explore your experiences, build understanding, and develop tools that support your mental health.

Support may include:
  • Anxiety and persistent worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Intergenerational trauma
  • Stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Identity and belonging
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship challenges
  • Substance use concerns
  • Life transitions and personal growth

Couples Counselling for Couples with FNHA Coverage

Relationships can be affected by stress, trauma, communication difficulties, and the challenges of navigating life together.

Couples counselling can support partners in improving communication, rebuilding trust, understanding each other's experiences, and creating healthier ways of connecting.

Counselling for Children and Teens with FNHA Coverage

Youth today navigate many pressures, including identity development, relationships, school, family expectations, social challenges, and questions about their future.

Our therapists provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where youth can talk openly, feel heard, and develop skills to manage emotions, relationships, stress, and difficult experiences.

Individual online counselling may not be suitable for very young children (e.g. under 7 years old).

Family Counselling for Families with FNHA Coverage

Families carry shared histories, strengths, challenges, and patterns that can shape relationships across generations.

Family counselling provides a space to improve communication, navigate conflict, strengthen relationships, and better understand each person's perspective.

How to Get Started with FNHA Counselling

Choosing to seek counselling is a meaningful step toward caring for yourself and your wellbeing.

Whether you are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance concerns, stress, identity challenges, or the impacts of experiences passed through generations, support is available.

You do not have to carry everything alone.

FNHA Counselling Eligibility: Status, Treaty, or Client Number

First Nations individuals, couples, and families with a status, treaty or client number may be eligible for FNHA covered mental health counselling services.

FNHA covers 100% of the session fees for attended appointments for eligible First Nations clients. After ensuring FNHA approval for session coverage, we direct-bill FNHA via Pacific Blue Cross for session fees. This means that you can access mental health counselling services at no out of pocket cost

Here is how you can access online FNHA counselling:

  1. Reach out to let us know that you would like to begin counselling either by filling out a contact form on our website, calling our office at our toll free phone number at 1-866-620-9314, or emailing our Client Care team at [email protected]
  2. Our Client Care team will send you an Intake & Consent Form by email for you to review and complete online. Look for the section in the form that asks about direct-billing to Indigenous Services Canada programs; this is where you can provide your status/treaty number to authorize direct-billing to FNHA
  3. Once you submit your consent form, we will seek prior approval from FNHA to confirm your session coverage and then reach out to you to schedule your first appointment.
  4. Our Client Care team will also send you an FNHA Authorization form to provide your authorization for us to direct-bill to FNHA through Pacific Blue Cross.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and our team would be happy to support you.

Note that FNHA does not cover potential fees associated with missed appointments with less than 24 hours notice; please reach out to our Client Care team or your therapist at your earliest opportunity if you need to reschedule your appointment or an emergency results in missing your appointment.
